    NEW POST……

To me Today at 6:14 AM
    Chandravadan,

Asha and I returned about a week ago from India. For the first time ever it has taken me over a week to recover from the trip going East to west. Normally this would be a matter of 2 to 3 three days. The 11 1/2 hour time difference, a 24 hour flight on Emirates, and nursing a low grade fever may all have something to do with it. How ever there is no escaping the fact that Father Time has also been doing a number on me.
The lesson learnt is to break the journey in-between, as I have done in the past.
The trip to India, which lasted over a month, was most enjoyable. it was spent mostly on visiting and spending time with various family members. As previously mentioned to you, it also included a celebration of my Fuaji’s 100th Birthday. This was done in Diu because of it’s proximity to Rajkot where he lives. The gathering, which lasted 4 days, was an occasion to renew acquaintances with my cousins and their children and grand children from all over the world.
Diu is a quaint little resort which harbors very little evidence of it’s Portuguese recent past except for a Fort and a Church.
The other is it’s Union Territory status which allows the flow of liquor within a very “dry” Gujarat.
I noted a voice mail message from you on my phone.
Judging by your burgeoning kavita production you are doing well.
    Best wishes to you.
