    Dear Chandravadanbhai,

    Excellent presentation!

Just in support to the theme of your poem, I represent here my views. All religions of the world have emphasized on rights of parents and duties of children towards them. In the Holy Quran, it is clearly shown that to obey parents, treat them respectfully and show kindness to them is next to worshipping Almighty God. As Vedas are considered to be Dev-vaanee (દેવવાણી) i.e. words of Devas, the Holy Quran is also as “Kalame Rabbani” i.e. words of Rab (God). In Surah (Verse) Al Isra (17:23), the text is “Your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him, and that you be kind to parents. Whether one or both of them attain old age in thy life, say not to them a word of contempt, nor repel them, but address them in terms of honor.”

    With warm regards,

    Valibhai Musa

    Dear Jija,

Truly such poems are of a great need and value at any time and especially in modern times for the children.

Sravan’s blind parents lost the only caring son mistaken as a “Mrug” by King Dashrath.

Well, now we see cases having modern Dashraths knowingly and purposefully snatching away sons, the only hopes and dreams of the innocent parents and the entire family. Enslaved son forgets where he came from, can’t tell right from wrong.

In 2006 when Ma gained consciousness in the hospital she saw me and after a while she gave a smile and spoke the following couplet in Gujarati:

LANGADA LULA ANDHRA GHARDA MA NE BAP
DIIKRA SARA HOY TO RAHE NAHI SANTAP.

It tells a volume in two lines. Parents do need warmth, love and respect. After all they brought us in this world as humans and want us to be truly “HUMANS”.

    Happy Father’s Day.

    Jaiprakash.

    Dear Nana,

My earlier comment on this poem was inadvertently posted on another poem. I cannot recall my message but essentiallly I echo the sentiments of others who have commented.

My grasp of our mother tougue is sadly lacking but I can understand the depth of your message. As being a son and now a father, I am aware that the father-child relationship has undergone a dramatic change mainly because our understanding of this special bond has been downgraded by our attitudes and circumstances.

Let us hope that the real meaning of Father’s Day is understood by both father and child. The love ,trust and respect between both is the cornerstone of a strong ,happy family, community and country.

Your passion for poetry and sharing your innermost thoughts through this forum is welcome. It will be fullfilling to those who appreciate Gujrati poetry and certainly it will encourage you to know that there are many like me who are proud for the effort and heart you have put in introducing your website to the world at large.

For me and also in reality my father was equally great or even greater than Mahatma Gandhi. I do not say this because he was my father, but he was really a great person. He was Mohanlal Mahashankar Dave. He looked the world with Ishavasya Vritti. He sacrificed fame to perform his duties which he chose first.
I think Bahuratna Vasundhara but all emeralds are identifiable.
