  It has been quite a difficult time for us all and we have gained a lot of encouragement and strength from personal visits and phone calls from family and friends such as you. It is amazing and heartening to know that my father was so well loved and respected by so many people worldwide.

  Having learnt more about you and your work, it is clear why my father coutned you amongst his close friends. I wish my Gujarati was as good as my father’s so I could apprecaite your work much more!

  I was pleased to read your profile.

  I know of your devotion to serve your family and also community. Just to mention one incident which showed how devoted you are for your family. When your elder brother, Mr Chhaganbhai died suddenly in a car accident in Zambia, you immediately left your employment as a doctor in a hospital in London suburb and went to Zambia to be with your brother’s wife Mrs Shantaben and family to give them comfort and help and stayed in Zambia for quite a long period till you made sure that your late brother’s family was comfortable and was able to get on with their life. At that time you even left your wife Kamu and children in London but only later arranged for them to join you in Zambia.

  Your devotion to serve the community of village Vesma, India where you were born is seen from major contributions made by you with your family in various community projects in the village. If one visits village Vesma one will see evidence all your benevolent contributions. You also encourage and support schemes both morally and financially to promote education among children of community. Your natural talent to write, particularly poems is reflected in publications of your poems in book form.

  You have always respected me as your elder brother which is a great honour for me. You have considered my wife Parvati as your own sister and had given her that respect and love as a brother to a sister which is heartily appreciated by her.

  May Almighty bless you with good health in life ahead to continue your good work.

  This blog provided me an excellent oppurtunity to get acquainted and inspired by your “jeevan and kavan”
  I am particularly fascinated by your love of Gujarati language and particularly poetry.
  You should continue to explore this side of your creativity and nothing elevateda person spiritiually than poetry.
  We, living in the west are all ind oriented- we may think or follow some body else’s thinking but we do not FEEL.

  It was great to catch up with you and Nani on my recent trip to the USA.
  I have known you and the Mistry family since my childhood in Zambia (Pemba and Lusaka). You are truly an inspiration to all of us in the manner in which you took on the responsibilities of not only your family but also Chhaganbhai’s family following his untimely demise in Zambia in mid-1970s. Your and Nani’s scarifices (with smiling faces) are well remembered by us all. You also were always there for my late parents whenever they needed medical attention - in Zambia and in the USA. Your charity and community work is also much appreciated as well as your writings and poems. May the Almighty continue to bless you and your family with good health and may you continue to inspire us with your knowledge, wisdom and compassion.

  Hello, I finally made it to your site. I have read all the wonderful comments from all your Family, Friends and Fan. I must say it just proves my faith where I consider you one of my Greatest Uncle I have know all my life. Even though I still remember from my childhood memory where I believe you visited us in India back in my guess 1978-1979 where you went on a family tour of India (visited Taj and all) and I was left behind But even after I still consider you as one of my Greatest and the closest Uncle I have and know. I know last year you have decided to retire, but I will never let you retire from being my Greatest Uncle.

  There is only one disappointed I have right now, I could not read your comment at the top of the blog as I never learned to read Gujarati… So Please Please Please translate your post into English. Knowing you I know you are going to be calling me soon to tell me to taken on learning Gujarati :)…

  My earliest memory of you that I can recall at this moment was back in 1983 when you and my Father picked up myself, my Mother, and my two sisters at Los Angeles International airport. We were arriving from Texas, Motabapa’s house if I recall correctly. You were there at the airport with a Ford van to pick us up along with the many suitcases that we had brought. We finally arrived to the state that I would be calling home.

  As I was growing up and visiting you and Auntie ever so often, there were three things that were guaranteed when I visited Lancaster; one I was going to be fed really well because Auntie is an excellent cook. Second, Auntie will always remind me how tall I was getting. Finally, Uncle and your camera. Everytime I think about it you were behind a camera. You seem to be always taking pictures. I often think you probably have more pictures of me growing up then my own parents. These precious memories of you Uncle and Auntie I will always cherish and I hope there will many more years of new memories that I obtain from you.

  Uncle, over the years you were there for not just myself, but my whole family in times of need and in times of joy. You were there to help in our low points and you were there to cheer us on when we accompolished something. I realize right now as I type this comment to post that I probably have never thanked you for everything you and Auntie have done for me and my family….UNCLE & AUNTIE, THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING! You will always have a special place with me and my family. It is very difficult sometimes to put thoughts into words. I probably could go on, but this is enough.

  P.S. I agree with my brother, a tranlation to English would be very beneficial.

  શ્રી ઉત્તમભાઈ ગજ્જર દ્વારા આપનો બ્લોગ વાંચવા મળ્યો. વાંચીને ઝૂમી ઊઠ્યો.હું પણ પ્રજાપતિ છું મારું ગામ- કુંભારફળિયા.–નાગધરા,સાતેમ પાસે.નવસારી પ્રજાપતિ આશ્રમમાં રહીને બીએસસી કર્યું સન્ 1971 માં અને 1972માં સેન્ટ્રલ બેંક ઓફ ઈન્ડિયામાં સૂરત નોકરીમાં જોડાયો સાહિત્ય-અધ્યાત્મ મારા પ્રિય વિષયો છે માર્ચ 2009 માં હું પણ નિવૃત્ત થાઉ છું આપે આપની કલમને જે રીતે રમતી મૂકી છે તે જોઈને ખૂબ આશ્ચર્ય સહિત આનંદની લાગણી અનુભવું છું આપની એ સહજપણે સર્જાતી ઝરણાં જેવી કવિતાઓ વારંવાર માણવાનું મન થાય છે. આપને ખૂબ ખૂબ અભિનંદન
